Mark your calendars, as AMD will deliver the IFA 2026 opening keynote come September 4. We expect much of the event’s focus will be on the firm’s consumer-facing artificial intelligence software and hardware. While this doesn’t sound particularly exciting on paper, this could also serve as the springboard for the Ryzen AI Max Pro 400 series.
Hosting duties for this keynote will fall to Jack Huynh, AMD’s SVP & GM of Computing & Graphics. He announced his attendance via X, providing little indication of what we can expect from the event beyond the broad platitude of “our vision for the next era of computing.” However, the official IFA 2026 press release gives us a few more hints.

The press release reveals Huynh’s keynote title is ‘The Era of Personal AI: The Future of Imagination’. IFA provides some context to AMD’s vision, stating that it will showcase “where AI transforms the relationship between people and technology and unlocks a new frontier of human imagination, creativity, and possibility.” While this is undoubtedly a broad stroke description, it does at least confirm that artificial intelligence will be the focus.
With the above in mind, it makes sense for this keynote to serve as a launch event for the Ryzen AI Max Pro 400 series. Just prior to Computex 2026, AMD shared the specifications for the lineup as well as plans to ship chips out during Q3 2026. September is the last month to fall within this quarter, thus an imminent release seems likely if the firm plans to stick to its original window.
For those out of the loop, the Ryzen AI Max Pro 400 series will offer up to 16 Zen 5 cores, capable of running up to 5.2GHz. They’ll arrive with up to 40 RDNA 3.5 compute units, as well as a whopping 192GB of unified memory. Suffice to say, PCs running these APUs plan to give the Nvidia DGX Spark a run for its money.
There’s every chance that AMD has more exciting consumer releases to discuss, but there have been no rumours or leaks to suggest anything pertinent to AM4/AM5 or RDNA 4 is just around the corner. Let’s just hope if any surprises are on the way, they don’t concern the Radeon RX 9050. We’ll just have to tune in September 4 and find out.
