GeForce RTX 5070 Ti will likely face stock shortages similar to other Nvidia GPUs

GeForce RTX 50 Series cards are beginning to feel like collector's items, as RTX 5070 Ti is apparently in short supply just before launch.

Nvidia will launch GeForce RTX 5070 Ti in just a few days but whispers of low availability are raining on the company’s parade. According to recent rumours, in-store availability may top out at just a few models per brand during the initial launch.

According to Channel Gate, shipments of GeForce RTX 5070 Ti arrived to clients last week but in very limited quantities, ranging from 10-20 units at best. Stores, system integrators, and internet cafés are all feeling the pinch. More shipments are apparently due in the next couple of days but supply won’t meet demand.

This shortage will naturally have an impact on GeForce RTX 5070 Ti pricing, as it has with GeForce RTX 5090 and 5080. For reference, Nvidia’s upcoming card should start at £729 / $749 with no Founders Edition to ground pricing. Instead, it’s up to partners to provide RRP / MSRP models alone. If prior launches have taught me anything, I expect to see stock of lower-priced cards fall away quickly and more-expensive, higher-margin models disappear almost as fast.

This isn’t an issue exclusive to a single region either. According to MichaelHofric13 on X, German retailer Alternate reports its stock levels mimic those of RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 launches. Similar reports are emerging out of China and will undoubtedly manifest elsewhere, including the US and UK.

It’s unclear whether Nvidia can resolve its supply chain problems prior to the launch of GeForce RTX 5070. If it can’t, AMD could have an exceptional opening for its Radeon RX 9070 XT and Radeon RX 9070 graphics cards, presuming it can meet demand. Here’s hoping it doesn’t underestimate the hunger from would-be upgraders like it did with Ryzen 7 9800X3D.

GeForce RTX 5070 Ti will launch on February 20, succeeding RTX 4070 Ti Super and likely offering better value than RTX 5080. Expect a review from Club386 soon, including other coverage on the card.
