I can’t believe it, Corsair just launched a 36g wireless gaming mouse

Corsair manages to somehow shave dozens of grams without reducing the size of the mouse, making the competing half-mouse designs look funny by comparison.

Corsair has released its lightest gaming mouse yet, tipping the scale at just 36g. The Sabre v2 Pro achieves this while maintaining a (119.25mm x 62.55mm x 38.21mm) full-size frame design that is easier to hold and clean, all while packing the latest and greatest hardware demanded by esports professionals.

The Corsair Sabre v2 Pro Ultralight Wireless gaming mouse is a regular-looking mouse that should suit most hand sizes. It is designed for demanding esports players who go above and beyond to make every movement as quick and as precise as possible. One of the main aspects sought after by these players is light weight, which allows movement to start and stop with minimum effort. In this regard, the Sabre v2 Pro Ultralight Wireless is among the best, as it weighs just 36g.

To get a feel of how impressive this is, most, if not all, mice that target below 50g use some sort of perforated design that tries to shave off some weight wherever possible. Others, like Razer’s, leverage special and expensive materials such as magnesium alloy or carbon fibre to control weight. Even so, the Razer Viper Mini Signature Edition, for example, is still heavier at 49g.

To go lower, many opt for a more aggressive approach by removing the back side of the mouse altogether. In this style, we have the Zaunkoenig M2K at 24g (wired), and the Zeromouse Blade at 22g – in its final wireless form. Corsair somehow manages to produce a normal-style mouse that weighs 36g, including the battery! The Corsair M75 Wireless is an elephant by comparison.

But that’s not all. The Sabre v2 Pro Ultralight Wireless packs some of the best hardware you can find in a mouse. Starting with the polling rate, we get up to 8,000Hz both wired and wirelessly. Next, we have Corsair’s Marksman S optical sensor, delivering up to 33,000 DPI plus the highest resolution of any Corsair mouse, with 99.7% accuracy and 750 IPS tracking. Lastly, a couple of custom-tuned mechanical switches rated for 100-million clicks provide the tactile feedback and the durability demanded by professional players. To put it simply, this mouse is built from the ground up to meet the demands of top-level FPS players, from tight flicks to smooth tracking.

Regarding battery, the brand claims up to 70 hours at 1,000Hz polling, using the 2.4GHz connection. 8,000Hz will likely drop this to a noticeable degree, but you should still get a couple of days on each charge anyway. You can change all settings, including DPI and polling rate, via the Web Hub.

The Sabre v2 Pro Ultralight Wireless gaming mouse is available on Corsair’s webstore and retail channels at £89.99/ $99.99 / €109.99, backed by a two-year warranty. This includes additional grip tapes and mouse skates that allow you to further tune the feel. Not to give Corsair bad ideas, but I have seen much more expensive mice that are less impressive specs-wise.
