InWin launches alien-looking Shift case offering unique customisation options

A case for enthusiasts who like to have a fine-tuned experience and don’t mind periodical cleaning sessions.

InWin has released one of its most unique-looking PC cases yet, making even the POC series look standard by comparison. Inspired by the X Frame 2.0 chassis, the Shift follows an industrial design with curved lines and a full-aluminium customisable structure. It boasts one of the most versatile and modular case designs, allowing you to effortlessly transition between a test bench, gaming rig, or showpiece in no time.

First spotted at CES 2025, the Shift is designed with reusability in mind, down to the smallest details. It features reinforced motherboard screw holes to withstand the numerous hardware swaps enthusiasts may put it through, and keeps a solid posture regardless of the chosen orientation. Even the stand feet are adjustable, ensuring a secure and balanced placement on uneven surfaces. And if you opt for a vertical GPU mount, InWin includes two tool-less GPU holders to secure your graphics card in place.

Every detail of the Shift is crafted with user choice in mind. You can rotate each of the three fan-support arms to the desired angle, choose between vertical and horizontal GPU mounting, or lay the entire case flat on your desk to create a test bench-like setup. It even supports dual PSUs plus Asus’ BTF and MSI Project Zero Series back-connector motherboards. In addition to allowing any angle between 0° and 90°, the extension wings also support PSU and storage drives. A great option if you own one of those fancy LCD-equipped PSUs.

InWin Shift hardware support.

The Shift has room for up to 305x330mm E-ATX motherboards, 350mm-long graphics cards, any CPU cooler height, and 280mm-deep PSUs. For cooling, you can choose between nine 120mm fans or triple 360mm liquid-cooling radiators, which is enough to tame any consumer hardware. Lastly, for storage, you get space for two 2.5in drives, one of which can accommodate a 3.5in HDD. To ensure your hardware remains the focal point, the Shift integrates a bunch of cable-management anchors to route your cables in a concealed fashion.

InWin Shift build example.

To help you build and modify it without hassle, InWin has built a dedicated mobile app for Android and iOS featuring an interactive 3D user guide. Overall, the case measures 490mm (L) x 490mm (W) x 309mm (H) in its compact form, and 773mm (L) x 773mm (W) x 309mm (H) in its large form, tipping the scale at 4.25kg.

The Shift is only available in a sandblasted silver finish via the brand’s EU store at €449.99. A hefty price no doubt, but understandable for such a low-volume, niche product.
