Philips has officially released the Evnia 34M2C8600P, a 34in ultrawide gaming monitor that combines the picture quality of 5th-gen QD-OLED tech with the brand’s renowned Ambilight RGB lighting, while also offering a KVM feature. Designed for gaming first, it offers a fast 280Hz refresh rate and a curved panel to deliver maximum immersion.
The Evnia 34M2C8600P’s panel also features an RGB V-Stripe pixel layout, which eliminates the text blurring and colour fringing associated with older QD-OLED tech. Having looked closely at this screen ourselves during a press event in Dubrovnik, we can confirm that text is sharper and less prone to fringing than on previous models. This is topped by a film that Philips says reduces distracting reflections in brighter rooms.
For this model, Philips went with a WQHD panel rocking a 3440×1440 resolution, which offers a 280Hz refresh rate and claimed 0.03ms GtG response time. The monitor also achieves a ClearMR 15,000 rating, indicating that fast motion remains clear, which is important for those playing a lot of competitive games. Combine that with up to 1,300nits of brightness, 99.3% coverage of the DCI-P3 colour space, and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500, and you’re in for a colourful, high-contrast gaming experience.
In addition to its ultrawide 21:9 aspect ratio, the Evnia 34M2C8600P also features a 1800R curve, bringing the monitor’s edges close to the user’s natural field of view, which should be great in story-driven or racing games. Furthermore, its 109.68PPI pixel density across that big panel, though not outstanding, will produce a sharp enough image for gaming and content consumption.
That said, this doesn’t mean the Evnia 34M2C8600P isn’t a valid option for professionals. The inclusion of a KVM switch with PiP/PbP support makes it ideal for multi-taskers, allowing you to control two machines with a single set of peripherals. Also, thanks to the built-in USB-C port, which can deliver both video and 90W of power, you can do so without having a mess of cables on your desk.
As we’ve seen with several Philips Evnia monitors lately, this one also comes equipped with the company’s Ambiglow RGB lighting tech. This analyses the image on screen and continuously adapts the colour and brightness of light projected from behind the monitor, extending an ambient glow outside of the monitor’s boundaries. If this isn’t enough, you can also connect your smart lights through AmbiScape to further extend the game’s atmosphere into your room.
Moving to connections, we find two HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4 input, and one USB-C socket with video and 90W power delivery. There’s also a 3.5mm headphone out jack, plus a two-port USB hub. Two 5W speakers are also included. As for ergonomics, we get 150mm height, 20° swivel, and between -5° and +20° tilt adjustments. However, there’s no mention of VESA arm mount support.
The Philips Evnia 34M2C8600P will be available from October 2026 at a price of £779 (MSRP). If you prefer a higher resolution or flat screen, the 31.5in Evnia 32M2N8900P is a solid alternative, powered by a 4th-gen QD-OLED panel.
