MSI indulges its inner artist with gorgeous Van Gogh laptops

Gazing at MSI's Van Gogh laptops, we wish more manufacturers would take inspiration from the art world in their designs.

It’s difficult not to gaze longingly at the beautiful laptops at MSI’s Computex 2026 booth, featuring iconic artwork from artist Vincent Van Gogh. Adorning the lids with these beautiful paintings is one thing, but the company also includes several subtle touches elsewhere across the body, that offers a welcome alternative take on commonplace monochrome aesthetics.

The MSI Prestige 14 Flip AI+ Vincent Van Gogh Edition laptops take inspiration from the titular painter, bringing together technology and creativity. The brand presented two variants, featuring Starry Night Over the Rhône and The Starry Night oil paintings. Both are nothing short or gorgeous, with great attention to detail and matching keyboard caps and rubber stops.

Starry Night Over the Rhône dates back to September 1888, while Van Gogh was still living in Arles, France. It represents an outdoor night scene on the banks of the Rhône River, capturing the different reflections of gas streetlamps over the water. The Starry Night followed it just under a year later, in June 1889; painted while Van Gogh was residing at the Saint-Paul-de-Mausole asylum. It shows an expressive view of the sky just before sunrise, inspired by the window view of his asylum room.

While both depict star-filled night skies, they reflect very different emotions. I prefer the more peaceful and comforting energy of the Starry Night Over the Rhône, with its fantastic lamp reflections on the river. MSI tells us that contrast was an important part of the design language behind this collection. From the chassis textures and colour details to the exclusive accessories and UI themes, the device reflects the layered emotions found in Van Gogh’s paintings.

Beyond its artwork, the Prestige 14 Flip AI+ is a competent portable PC, designed for creators who move constantly between work and everyday life. Inside its thin body, we find an Intel Core Ultra processor with Intel Arc graphics alongside LPDDR5x memory. Both variants feature a vibrant OLED display covering 100% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut, delivering rich contrast and accurate colours for content creation and consumption.

MSI also advertises AI-assisted media editing, image generation, background noise reduction, live captions, and other smart productivity tools. Most importantly, the laptop’s 81Whr battery should provide plenty of uptime between charges, with enough juice for up to 30 hours of 1080p video playback.

Appealing as the hardware inside these laptops is, the outside undeniably takes the spotlight, thanks to their unique appearance and emotional weight. This Van Gogh theming also extends beyond the laptops themselves, with MSI bundling a matching mouse, mouse pad, and ID badge with each system.
