Star Wars Jedi: Survivor requires massive 155GB disk space on PC

1TB SSDs are cheap as chips now.

Star Wars Jedi Survivor

Electronic Arts has updated Star Wars Jedi: Survivor required specs, now asking for 155GB of space alongside 8GB of memory at minimum.

The much-awaited Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has got what looks like final specs, calling for at least a 4-core/8-thread CPU, such as the six-years-old Intel Core i7-7700 or AMD’s Ryzen 5 1400, alongside an (£80 second-hand) RX 580 or GTX 1070 8GB graphics card. While the RX 580 is closer to a GTX 1060 performance-wise, this choice could be forced due to the 1060’s 6GB buffer.

We will also need a minimum of 8GB of system memory plus a whopping 155GB of storage space – triple what Fallen Order required (55GB). 155GB is a hefty size, not even counting any upcoming updates or DLCs. The good news is that SSDs are on a sale spree lately, but if price isn’t a problem, maybe a Star Wars-themed SSD is for you.

While these specs may sound low, they are most likely targeting 30fps at 1080p. Getting QHD60, for example, the game will need an 11th Gen Core i5 or a Zen 3-based Ryzen 5 accompanied by a somewhat recent mid-range graphics card carrying 8GB or more VRAM.

The full spec list goes as follows:

Minimum:

  • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system

Those who pre-order the Deluxe Edition will get the New Hero plus Galactic Hero cosmetic packs, respectively, inspired by Luke Skywalker and Han Solo, alongside the Jedi Survival pack inspired by Obi-Wan Kenobi, which is offered with the Standard Edition pre-order. It’s refreshing to see all relevant content available with the base game and not hidden behind a special-edition paywall.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is scheduled for April 28, 2023, coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PCs, priced at £59.99 for the Standard Edition and £79.99 for the Deluxe Edition on Steam.
